These images were taken on the beach not too long ago. This wonderful family came from all over the country and met in Naples for a vacation. I’m lucky that so many of my evenings this time of year are spent on the beach at sunset with great clients. And who can resist this little peanut in the photos! She was just a doll and was happiest in her uncle’s arms.

This time of year, we here at Heather Donlan Photography are occupied with primarily one thing only…holiday cards! Each card is custom designed funny enough, sometimes the photos seem secondary to the card design. This photo session was done this past week at Mediterra here in Naples. I love the feel that Mediterra provides, especially for a family portrait. I’ll be sure to post their card when it’s completed so you can see which design mom picks…

This lovely family came all the way over from England to get holiday photos done on the beach. Well, actually they were vacationing here in Naples and decided to do some holiday photos while here. They couldn’t have asked for a better evening. The sunset was perfect and Bronson, their little chunk of love, really knew how to work the camera resulting in some fabulous images.

This fabulous wedding took place in Naples, FL at The Old Collier Golf Cub. This was a new location for me to photograph at and I just fell in love with the property. There were just so many different places to use as a backdrop for me. And it didn’t hurt that my bride was up for anything! These are just a handful of my favorite images from the wedding.

The images from this photo shoot remind me of a summer afternoon. The warmness of the late afternoon sun was so incredibly beautiful, especially shining through the long vines coming down off the trees. These boys were so well-behaved and the younger brother really loved posing for the camera, which is always helpful. What a stunning location to do a family portrait shoot and it makes it even better when you have trees like this right in your back yard.

This family was photographed in the studio a few weeks ago and also signed up for a beach photo session in order to capture their family in a different setting. The young boys just loved the beach, so it was fun having the chance to photograph the family in such a carefree type of setting. The images have a real “lifestyle” quality to them. You look at some of these photos and not only get a good sense of their family, but in many of these images I, as a mother, can really identify.

This couple chose to celebrate part of their 50th Anniversary weekend by having family photos taken. After many, many rain reschedules, we were finally able to meet on the beach at sunrise the morning their kids and grandkids were headed out. Hitting that 50th Anniversary is truly a remarkable feat. I’ve been married almost 7 years and it’s hard to wrap my head around adding another 43 years to that. Had I been quicker in that early morning of our session, I would have pressed the grandparents harder for their secret to having such a long and happy marriage!

I can’t think of any little girl who has not dreamt of one day being Cinderella. This image seems to capture that feeling for me.

When the ceremony is over and party has begun, the first dance is often the only alone time couples may have with each other for the whole day. This is a favorite moment for me to photograph couples because the photos feel capture the intimacy. This is when we can see the couple whispering or singing to each other. Finally, having a break from mingling with their guests to enjoy a few quiet minutes with each other. This wedding was photographed at The La Playa last weekend and posted are a few of my favorites.

This mother & son team were such a pleasure to photograph and watch their interaction. How can you not love a child who asks his mother dance simply out of the blue? Gina used to vacation down here in the Naples/Marco area when she was a little girl, and she was fulfilling a promise to her son to bring him to Naples to enjoy the beach and beautiful surroundings. The photo session took place in two locations. The first part of the session was at The Escalante Hotel and part two happened at the beach. Some of the more candid images from this session are what I find most endearing. Images that show mother & son simply talking and enjoying each other’s company.
