Everglades Maternity Session

This shoot was so exciting for me, as an artist and photographer.  My dear friend Megan, who is pregnant with her third child, wanted to do something different and exciting for her (final) maternity session.  There was no question in my mind what I envisioned for her.  I have always wanted to do a maternity shoot out in the everglades and she was so trusting of me to let me guide her into creating some stunning portraits.  We had help from Heather & Roy who took us around on their swamp buggie and kept eyes out for snakes and gators.  Megan was such a trouper getting her feet wet, literally, and in the end I think all our efforts were absolutely worth it.   These pieces will not only be a beautiful  memory for Megan, but they will also be included in a show that I am working on that focus’ on Women & the Everglades.  Enjoy!

Thanks Melinda! It was super fun to be out in those waders…and I am incredibly pleased with how the images turned out. Not to mention Megan being an absolute trouper! 8+ months pregnant wading out into the middle of the everglades…she was amazing!

Hey Heather. Your pictures turned out absolutely beautiful & Megan looks absolutely stunning! I have never seen a photographer work as hard as you did to capture that “perfect” shot. Your talent is truly expressed through these pictures. It was a pleasure meeting you & Zak. Thanks for allowing Roy & I to be apart of your shoot and please let us know the date of your show, would love to see more pics.

p.s. I’m to sexy for my waders!

Hey Heather. Thanks so much for the note. I am SO pleased with how they turned out! Thank you, thank you to you and Roy again for taking us out on your swamp buggie and showing us around your neck of the woods. We had so much fun and can’t wait to get out there with you guys again. Next time…we’ll bring more beers. I’m vetoing the champagne in the woods. It doesn’t feel quite right:)
